World premiere drama, SISTER AFRICA, focuses on the story of the women and children of the Congo, brutalized by the world's deadliest conflict since World War II, and the work of Jewish World Watch to help survivors rebuild their lives.

Based on the playwright's own experiences of traveling to the Democratic Republic of the Congo along with hundreds of hours of interviews - not only with the victims of rape and torture, but with child soldiers, the staff of Jewish World Watch (an activist organization dedicated to ending genocide and mass atrocities worldwide and to providing support and building resilience to those living in conflict-affected communities), and its co-founder and president, Janice Kamenir Reznik.

TAKESHA MESHÉ KIZART

is worthy of all superlatives. With a breathtaking mastery and unflinching portrayals... a vocal flexibility that enables her to acutely pass from a tearful murmur to a firm luminosity. And her dramatic intelligence is worthy of the great "lionesses" of the lyric theater. An artist whose international career is still at its dawning, this young and beautiful American should reach the summit quickly. Provided, of course, that she preserves the incandescent glow that currently emanates from her every word and gesture.
